Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has declared that revealing the files related to Jeffrey Epstein will be a key focus of his newly formed political initiative, the 'America Party.' He raised concerns about the public's trust in former President Donald Trump, questioning how confidence can be maintained if Trump does not disclose the Epstein documents. In a post on X, Musk stated, 'How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?'
A user on the platform responded, inquiring if unveiling the Epstein files would be a significant priority for the America Party. Musk replied with a simple '100' emoji, indicating strong support for the idea.
Jeffrey Epstein, who was facing serious sex trafficking charges, died in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial. Recently, Musk took a jab at Trump, criticizing the lack of arrests in connection with the Epstein case.
Escalating Tensions with Trump
Musk shared an image on his social media platform that read, 'The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter,' which displayed '0000.' He commented, 'What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again.' This remark intensified his ongoing feud with Trump, especially after Musk announced the establishment of the America Party and criticized Trump's handling of the Epstein situation.
The rift between the two grew deeper following the passage of a significant policy bill by Republicans, which Trump supported. Musk expressed his intention to support primary challengers against GOP members who backed the bill. In response, Trump dismissed Musk's new political party as 'ridiculous' and labeled him a 'train wreck,' suggesting that the initiative was unlikely to succeed in the American political landscape.
Musk's Vision for the America Party
Trump remarked on Truth Social, 'He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them.' He further stated, 'The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!'
Musk introduced the America Party after conducting a poll on X, gauging interest in breaking away from the traditional two-party system. He expressed, 'When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.'
A Shift in Relations
This conflict signifies a notable shift in the relationship between Musk and Trump. Previously, Trump had commended Musk for his efforts to reduce government costs and even awarded him a gold key to the White House. Musk had an office at the White House during his time with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and was a prominent figure in Cabinet meetings.
In a surprising turn, Trump has hinted at the possibility of deporting Musk, who is a South African-born U.S. citizen, and suggested that the DOGE could be used against Musk's businesses.
